Here we go again. A new Education Achievement Authority with it's own System is endorsed and sponsored by Progressive Republicans in the House and Senate including Governor Rick Snyder. (Clearly, progressive-thinking resides within both parties on all levels.)
However, this time Superintendents from many Michigan Public School Systems are publicly stating their beginning to believe in conspiracy-facts, not fiction. (This could be a blessing in disguise.) In similar letters posted on their school's websites, Superintendents reached out to parents warning and urging to take action against House Bill 6004 and Senate Bill 1358. NOTE: Both Bills are sponsored separably by (R-H) Lisa Posthumus Lyons and (R-S) Phil Pavlov and piggy-backed with different implementations.
School District Superintendents stated: These Bills will create a single, statewide school district, that is not accountable to a board elected by the people, but rather an appointed Chancellor. The Educational Acheivement Authority (EAA) has no educational track record, as it only began running schools in Detroit since September of 2012. Thus, the EAA would not be governed by any local elections, and would operate without any oversight from the Michigan Department of Education. Your tax dollars would be sent to this new super-district without your approval. Furthermore, funds currently allocated would be re-allocated to other areas of the State controlled by the Chancellor and an already appointed 11-member Education Achievement Authority Board. Additionally under this plan, this EAA can open schools anywhere it wants in the state, not just where there are failing schools. In fact, the Bills even state that Schools must surrender some of our buildings, including athletic facilities, if any diploma mill or fly-by-night operator wants to open a school here. In fact, they are exempt from taking any state assessments, making it impossible to compare school quality. BOTTOM-LINE "The removal of local control through elected school board members and the inability to foster healthy competition among local districts is the beginning (quickening) of a slide toward mediocrity in education. Let's recognize it for what it is....This is Agenda 21 at its worst." If you're not sure of the ideologies that are taking over America, watch this video for a brief education. Should the fate of Public Schools lay in the hands of a few or the vote of the people?

These Bills designed to radically restructure Michigan's Public School System, placing complete control in the hands of one person (chancellor) and a 11-Member Panel are not considering your vote.
Question is: If this Radical Change is so good for all Michigan School Districts, then why isn't it going to the ballot for all of us to vote?
Both Bills are nothing less than a shell game to have all Education Revenue be funneled into funding the Detroit Public School Systems, which we all know is financially bankrupt.
